The house is in the peaceful and picturesque village of Mérindol. There are three double bedrooms, each with bath or shower room, and three toilets. Built in the 18th century, the house has been restored, and is comfortable and well equipped. It faces south, with good exposure to the sun and a fine view from the terrace. The courtyard is walled, providing privacy for the swimming pool and covered patio. The rear entrance is only fifty yards from the centre of the village. The house is on three floors so may not be suitable for people who have difficulty with stairs.
The village of Mérindol is on the south slope of the Luberon hills, an area protected as a Regional Natural Park, with excellent walking and cycling trails. The village overlooks the Durance river valley, and the surrounding countryside is dotted with olive groves, vineyards and charming Provençal villages. There are tennis courts in the village, and there are several golf courses in the area. Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Saint Rémy and Les Baux de Provence are all within 25 miles (40 km).
